Our Classes

Every class can be a mindful practice that emphasizes body awareness and connection between breath and movement. However, we do have specific categories of classes to give you more insight to what you are walking into. Below you will find more information about the two styles of yoga that Arielle teaches. The two styles is a Soma Flow, which to its core is traditionally a Vinyasa class that strives to highlight the essence of somatics. The second is Yin class, description of what Yin is will be explained below.

The two are VERY different but again, yield the same results of each class being mindful and finding connection between breath and movement.

SOMA FLOW

Our Soma Flow embodies elements of a traditional vinyasa style class. Expect to be mentally and physically challenged. Breath awareness, poses, and yogic fundamentals are introduced and further broken down. Arielle emphasizes correct alignment, steady breath and to practice with a beginners mindset.

Somatic" refers to the internal experience of the body, focusing on how movement feels from within rather than how it looks. , practitioners slow down to tune into these sensations, allowing for a more intuitive and fluid flow. This practice fosters a deeper connection to the body, promoting balance, alignment, and a sense of embodiment, enhancing both the physical and mental aspects of yoga

Yin yoga allows us to work in to the deeper tissues of our ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks and even our bones. The practice is based on the principles of Yin and Yang from Taoist philosophy, where Yin represents qualities like stillness, darkness, and grounding, while Yang (vinyasa) represents movement, light, and activity. In Yin yoga, poses are often passive, allowing gravity to do most of the work, and practitioners are encouraged to relax into the postures, focusing on breath awareness and mindfulness. Expect to hold these shapes anywhere from 45 seconds to 5 minutes, even up to 20 minutes in some cases.
